Care Instructions

Display indoors only. Hang away from direct sunlight — prolonged UV exposure will fade the preserved botanicals over time. Indirect or diffuse natural light, or standard indoor lighting, is ideal.

Keep away from direct air conditioning or fan vents. Constant airflow directed onto the piece accelerates drying of the botanical material and shortens its colour life.

Do not mist, spray, or introduce moisture to the piece in any form. The botanicals are preserved and do not require water — moisture damages the preservation chemistry and can cause mould.

Maintain in normal indoor ambient conditions. Avoid environments with humidity above 80% or below 20% — both extremes stress the botanical material.

To clean, use a very gentle compressed-air puff (canned air at low pressure, held at least 20cm from the surface). Do not wipe the botanical surface with cloth, damp or dry — wiping disturbs and detaches preserved elements. The resin surface may be gently wiped with a soft dry cloth if needed.

Do not handle the botanical elements directly — the natural oils from skin can discolour preserved botanicals over repeated contact.

The resin surface is hard and scratch-resistant for normal display purposes. Avoid contact with sharp objects or abrasive cleaning materials on the resin.

If the piece is moved or transported, keep it flat and do not stack anything on top of the botanical surface.

The Turquoise Resin — What It Is

The turquoise water element in the piece is epoxy resin — a two-component polymer that, when mixed and poured, cures to a glass-clear hard surface. The turquoise color is created with pigment additives mixed into the resin before pouring. The specific turquoise
#00C8E8 achieves its electric quality because the resin is both pigmented and partially translucent: the white MDF base beneath the resin shows through in the shallower zones, making the resin appear lighter, while deeper resin pools appear richer and darker. The resin surface once cured is hard, smooth, glossy, and scratch-resistant for normal display purposes. It should not be cleaned with abrasive materials. Soft damp cloth if needed.

The Preserved Botanicals

The moss varieties used in this piece include reindeer moss (Cladonia rangiferina — the primary large-cluster variety), cushion moss (compact dome forms), and feather/fern-like moss varieties for groundcover. The colour range across the piece: apple lime

The dark piece of material crossing the turquoise river diagonally is a naturally dried and treated piece of bark or branch — selected for its diagonal form and dark surface quality. The term "bridge" in the product name refers both to the physical form (a natural element crossing the water) and to the compositional narrative (a landscape feature that connects the two botanical banks). The bark's texture — grain lines, fissures, knots — is visible in the piece and provides the strongest textural contrast element against the smooth resin.

Display and Care

Mount on a wall using standard picture-hanging hardware (nail or hook). The piece is wall-ready — hanging hardware is attached to the back. Do not mist, spray, or introduce moisture. The botanicals are preserved and do not require water. Moisture inside the sealed acrylic zone can cause mould and permanent damage.

Avoid placing near direct air conditioning vents or in environments with extreme temperature fluctuations.

To clean the acrylic front panel, wipe gently with a soft dry or slightly damp microfibre cloth. Do not use abrasive cloths, paper towels, or chemical glass cleaners — these scratch acrylic surfaces.

Do not open or remove the acrylic panel for cleaning purposes — the botanical material inside is fragile and undisturbed display is the correct care mode.

If the acrylic panel is removed for any reason, handle the cork pegs carefully — they are the structural fasteners holding the panel to the botanical backing.

Handle the piece by the MDF frame body, not by the acrylic panel or the botanical zone.

Expected lifespan under proper care: 5+ years. The acrylic cover provides additional protection that extends botanical life beyond open-face preserved botanical products.
