Description
WHY THE BLUE TEA IS THE WHOLE REASON THIS BOX IS REMEMBERED

Go through the festive tea hampers on sale this month and they are the same box: two or three good teas, a printed carton, sometimes an infuser. They are pleasant and they are forgotten by December, because nothing in them surprises anybody.

This one has butterfly pea flower tea in it. Poured hot it comes out an intense, almost unreal blue. Add a squeeze of lemon and the whole cup turns violet-pink in front of you, because the flower's pigment shifts with acidity. It is naturally caffeine-free, so it works at ten at night, and it is the single most photographed cup of tea in India right now.

That matters commercially and not just as a party trick. **A gift that produces a moment gets shown to somebody**, and a gift that gets shown to somebody is remembered as having come from you. Fifteen grams is not a large quantity and it is not meant to be — it is the surprise, and the masala chai is the everyday.

AND THE MASALA CHAI IS A REAL 70 GRAMS

Loose leaf, not bags. CTC black tea with cardamom, cloves, bay leaf, black pepper, mace and nutmeg — a proper strong North Indian cup rather than a perfumed approximation of one. Seventy grams is around thirty to thirty-five cups, which is a month of mornings rather than a tasting sample.

Between the two, the box covers both ends of a day: the cup that gets you started, and the one that does not stop you sleeping.

TWO VESSELS THAT ARE NOT MUGS WITH A LOGO ON THEM

The frosted glass bottle is glass with a bamboo cap and a bamboo base sleeve, in an ocean-blue finish — the object people keep on a desk rather than in a cupboard. The sipper mug is wheat straw with a ribbed silicone grip and a screw-on lid, so it travels.

**There is no plastic vessel in this hamper.** Glass, bamboo, wheat straw and silicone. That is a real eco claim rather than a printed leaf, and it is the reason two of the three most expensive things in the box are the things the recipient still owns in a year.

WHO IT IS FOR

The tea drinker on a corporate list, which is most of them. A colleague, a client, a house you are visiting on Diwali evening. And genuinely the right box for anyone who has been given three dry-fruit trays already this season and would rather have something to actually do.

Your message goes on the card, so a hundred of these go out in your words rather than ours.

Additional information
THE BUTTERFLY BLUE PEA TEA

Fifteen grams of whole butterfly pea flowers, nothing else. Steep four or five flowers in hot water for two to three minutes and the water turns a deep, saturated blue. Squeeze in lemon or lime and it shifts to violet and then pink — the flower's pigment is pH-sensitive, so the acid literally changes its colour in the cup. It is naturally caffeine-free, so it is a late-evening drink as easily as an afternoon one.

Serve it hot, or brew it strong, cool it and pour it over ice with lemon for the version people photograph.

THE INDIAN MASALA CHAI

Seventy grams of loose leaf — roughly thirty to thirty-five cups. CTC black tea with cardamom, cloves, bay leaf, black pepper, mace and nutmeg. Brew it the proper way: water, tea and spice on the boil, then milk, then sugar to taste, and let it come up twice.

Both teas arrive in glass jars with screw lids that re-seal, so neither has to be decanted.

THE BOTTLE AND THE MUG

The bottle is frosted glass in an ocean-blue finish with a bamboo screw cap and a bamboo sleeve at the base. The mug is a wheat straw body with a ribbed silicone grip and a screw-on lid — a reusable coffee cup rather than a mug with a handle, so it goes in a bag.

**We have not yet confirmed the capacity of either vessel in this hamper**, or whether they are dishwasher or microwave safe, and we would rather say so than estimate. Ask us before ordering in bulk and we will get you the figures. Hand wash both to be safe, and do not put the bamboo parts in a dishwasher.

THE DIYAS

Two brass lotus-form diya holders with a fanned petal back and a curved stem, so they sit on a surface or hang from a hook — which is more useful than it sounds when every flat surface is already taken on Diwali night. Never leave a lit diya unattended, and keep it away from curtains, children and pets.

WHAT WE HAVE NOT FINALISED, AND WILL NOT GUESS

The snack mix is 50g of mixed dried fruit. **Its exact composition has not been finalised**, so we are not listing an allergen set from the name — please check with us before sending this hamper to anyone with a food allergy. Vessel capacities, box dimensions, packed weight and shelf life are all being confirmed and are deliberately absent rather than estimated.

FOR BULK AND CORPORATE ORDERS

Nothing in the box is perishable or temperature-sensitive, so it can be ordered ahead of the festival fortnight and held. Send us your quantity and the date you need delivery and we will confirm both, with a GST invoice, and your message printed on every card.
Returns
Hampers are not eligible for return, exchange or refund, with the single exception of a hamper that arrives damaged in transit, which must be reported to the delivery partner at the time of delivery so the claim can be raised.
Please note
Keep both tea jars closed between uses and store them away from steam and strong smells, which is what dulls an aromatic blend fastest. Hand wash the bottle and the mug, and keep the bamboo cap and base out of a dishwasher. Never leave a lit diya unattended, and keep it away from curtains, children and pets.

The hamper contains 50g of mixed dried fruit whose exact composition is not yet finalised. Please check with us before sending this hamper to anyone with a food allergy.

CUSTOMIZE IT — LOGOS, BRANDING & BULK ORDERS.

Your message is printed on the card in every box. On a corporate run the box lid takes a logo — it is flat, rigid, uncoated board and already carries a gold-foil block, which is proof rather than a guess that the stock holds foil. The wheat straw mug is also a printable surface and is ours to print on.

Send us your quantity and the date you need delivery and we will come back with a mock-up before anything is printed.

2Does the butterfly pea tea really turn blue?
Yes. Steeped in hot water it brews a deep blue, and adding lemon or lime turns it violet then pink, because the flower's pigment shifts with acidity. It is naturally caffeine free.
3How many cups is 70g of masala chai?
Roughly thirty to thirty-five cups. It is loose leaf rather than bags — CTC black tea with cardamom, cloves, bay leaf, black pepper, mace and nutmeg.
4Are the teas loose leaf or tea bags?
Both are loose leaf, in glass jars with screw lids that re-seal. Neither needs decanting into another container.
5What are the bottle and the mug made of?
The bottle is frosted glass with a bamboo cap and base sleeve. The mug is wheat straw with a silicone grip and a screw lid. There is no plastic vessel in the box.
6What is the capacity of the bottle and the mug?
We are confirming both and would rather not estimate. Ask us before ordering, particularly in bulk, and we will get you the exact figures.

Not confirmed yet, so hand wash both to be safe, and keep the bamboo cap and base out of a dishwasher in any case.
8Does the hamper contain allergens?
It contains 50g of mixed dried fruit whose exact composition is not finalised. Please check with us before sending this hamper to anyone with a food allergy.
