Open preserved-botanical pieces look beautiful and then quietly collect dust,
which is very difficult to clean off moss without damaging it. The acrylic cover
solves that, and it is why this piece carries a longer life than an open

normal use there is no reason to remove it.

THE BOTANICALS

The greenery is real reindeer moss, preserved rather than dried, which is why it
stays soft and keeps its colour instead of going brittle and brown. It is not

attract insects, because there is no soil and no moisture anywhere in the piece.

Indoor use only. Keep out of direct sunlight — UV fades preserved botanicals over
time. Keep away from damp, steam and sustained heat. Do not remove the cover in
normal use; there is no maintenance to perform inside. Never water, mist or wipe
the botanicals. Clean the outside of the acrylic with a soft dry microfibre cloth
only — no tissue, no paper towel, no glass cleaner or solvent, all of which
scratch or cloud acrylic. Handle by the base rather than by the cover.

1Is the moss real, or is it artificial?

A: Real reindeer moss, preserved rather than dried. It is not alive and will not grow, but it is genuine plant material — the irregular fibre and the natural variation between pale and deep green are things artificial moss does not reproduce.

2Does it need visarjan after Ganesh Chaturthi?

A: No. This is a permanent piece meant to be kept, not immersed. Nothing in it dissolves and nothing should go into water. Many families now keep a permanent Ganesha at home alongside whatever they do for the festival.

3Where should I keep it according to vastu?

A: The usual guidance is the north-east of a room, with the idol facing north or east, placed at a height where you look across at it rather than down at it. The practical requirements matter too: out of direct sunlight and away from damp

4Do I need to water it or open the cover?

A: Neither, ever. Water will actively damage it — moisture breaks down the preservation. The cover stays on. There is nothing to do to this object at all.

5Can I do puja with it, light a diya or agarbatti near it?

A: Keep any flame at a clear distance — an arm's length or more. Preserved botanicals are dry natural material and acrylic does not like sustained heat, so neither should sit close to a burning diya or agarbatti. Nothing about your daily practice needs to change otherwise; just place the flame separately.

6Does it light up?

A: No. There is no LED, no battery and no cable — it is completely passive. What you see in a well-lit room, or beside a lamp at night, is the polished gold catching the light already there.

7How big is it really?

A: The cover is two inches square. Smaller than a chai glass, and it takes up less space than a phone lying flat. If you are picturing a conventional idol, this is much smaller — deliberately so, because it is meant for a working table.

8Can I keep it in my car on the dashboard?

A: We would not recommend it until the heat tolerance is confirmed. A parked car in an Indian summer gets far hotter than any room, and sustained heat suits neither preserved botanicals nor acrylic. Treat this as an indoor piece.

9The acrylic looks like it could scratch. How do I clean it?

A: Wipe the outside only, with a soft dry microfibre cloth. Do not use tissue or newspaper, which leave fine scratches on acrylic, and no solvent or glass cleaner. The inside never needs cleaning because it is covered.
